Being a parent is a tough job, some days go smoothly but other days, it is tense and stressful. Children need a lot of assistance, knowledge and patience to understand. Every thing in life is a double-edge sword, including technology which has made most parts of our life easier. Looking at screens throughout the day is starting to become the norm. But with this comes many drawbacks. It is easy to just sit and look at social media, watch television and play computer games. All these lead to health problems in children (as well as adults) including disturbed sleep pattern, insomnia, lower self-confidence (hidden behind the ego), slower development in social and life skills. Their physical, mental and emotional health suffers, there is increased risk of brain washing. Children will learn to seek comfort in technology rather than in relationships and boosting their self-confidence. Myopia is on the increase due to spending too much time on the cellphone and looking down while walking produces a hunched neck and back.

Children need a daily positive distraction from the endless bombardment of technology. Many studies have proven that children need to be active, at least 60 minutes each day, to make sure their bones develop properly and they develop good habits which can be carried throughout their lives. Medical studies have shown that when children are taught how to have a healthy lifestyle, including fitness and nutrition, they will have an 80% less risk of developing any heart disease. This is why I am introducing the Jumpstart program, it is designed to help children to be healthy, successful and enjoy their life to the fullest. This program will help reduce the risk of injuries and diseases throughout their life. Click the blue download file button below to learn more about this program.

The new season is a great reason to make and keep resolutions. Whether it’s eating right or cleaning out the garage, here are some tips for making and keeping resolutions.

    Make a list

Lists are great ways to stay on track. Write down some big things you want to accomplish and some smaller things, too.

    Check the list regularly

Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Just because you don’t achieve the big goals right away doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.

    Reward yourself

When you succeed in achieving a goal, be it a big one or a small one, make sure to pat yourself on the back.

    Think positively

Positive thinking is a major factor in success. So instead of mulling over things that didn’t go quite right, remind yourself of things that did.
